Snow Pudding

Light and fluffy whipped gelatin with a custard sauce.

Ingredients:

 
Snow Pudding BaseCustard Sauce
1 Package Knox Gelatin (1 Tablespoon)3 Egg Yolks
1/4 cup Cold Water & 1 cup Boiling Water1/4 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Lemon Juice1/8 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Sugar2 cups Milk
3 Egg Whites1 teaspoon Vanilla flavoring
1/4 teaspoon Salt

Preparation:

  1. Soak gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water for 5 minutes in a glass bowl.
  2. Pour 1 cup boiling water over the gelatin to dissolve it.
  3. Stir in the Sugar until it is completely dissolved.
  4. Stir in the Lemon Juice.
  5. Chill the mix until it falls in sheets from a spoon.
  6. Whip the Egg Whites with the Salt until stiff.
  7. Whip the semi-jelled mix into the Egg Whites.
  8. Beat until the mixture begins to stiffen.
  9. Pour into serving bowl and chill thoroughly.
  1. Scald the Milk and set aside.
  2. Beat the Egg Yolks slightly to loosen.
  3. Beat in the Sugar and Salt.
  4. Slowly stir in the scalded Milk.
  5. Cook over a low flame or in a double boiler
  6. Stir constantly until thickened.
  7. Stir in the Vanilla. Chill thoroughly.
  8. Pour over servings of Snow Pudding
